Liverpool centre-half Daniel Agger insists he is fit to start Wednesday’s big Premier League clash at Arsenal despite recent injury problems. The Dane made just his second start in six weeks in the weekend win over Everton, as he has been constantly plagued by niggling injuries in the last two seasons. Foot, groin and back injuries have curtailed Agger’s playing time and he was recently out, but he claims he is over his problems and is ready to replace Sotirios Kyrgiakos, who is suspended for the next three matches. The 25-year-old admitted: "It has been annoying. I've done my best trying to play but it has been really difficult. You have to accept it is part of the game even though my injuries have not been that many, just big." Agger is expected to partner Martin Skrtel at the Emirates in the absence of Kyrgiakos, with Jamie Carragher continuing at full-back with Glenn Johnson still sidelined.
