Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Dutch forward Robin van Persie is on course to be back in the game by mid-April.
Van Persie has been sidelined since last November with an ankle injury. He underwent surgery last December to help aid his recovery and was expected to be out for the remainder of the Gunners’ campaign.
However, his rehabilitation is making good progress and he could still feature on the pitch before the end of this season.
With Arsenal still in the Premier League title race, if fit again, van Persie could considerably boost his team’s chances at reaching the top of the league ladder.
“He has come back (to the training ground) and is doing as well as you can at this stage,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
“He is out of his boot and walks normally but he thinks he will be playing mid-April.”
