Ryan Babel has thrown Liverpool's Champions League preparations into turmoil by insisting he will leave if manager Rafael Benitez refuses to play him more.
The Holland winger has revealed he will meet for talks with Benitez soon to discuss his future but says he has no desire to hang around on the substitutes' bench at Anfield.
Benitez signed Babel for £11.5m in the summer of 2007 on the back his impressive performances for Holland Under-21s, but the former Ajax man has failed to live up to expectations on Merseyside.
Babel told The Sun: "I have tried to talk to the manager but it isn't of any use. I couldn't really do anything with the feedback Benitez gave me.
"We have agreed to look at my situation in the winter. If there's no improvement then, I have to be honest, I want to be somewhere else.
"I don't play a lot so I can't be happy and I can't cheer out loud. Sometimes I wonder how long I can sustain it but I will fight for my position - what else can I do?"
Liverpool must win in Debrecen on Tuesday - regardless of how already-qualified Lyon fare against Fiorentina - to avoid elimination from the Champions League.
