Barcelona are bullish about their chances of tempting Cesc Fabregas back one day and have hinted they also want Robinho in January.
Arsenal captain Fabregas signed a long-term deal two seasons ago but it has done nothing to stop constant speculation over a return to the Catalan giants.
The 22-year-old came through Barca’s youth ranks before a switch to the north Londoners in 2003 and his form for the Gunners and Spain has made the midfielder one of the hottest properties in world football.
And Nou Camp sporting director Txiki Begiristain is convinced Barcelona will seal the deal at some point.
He told Sport newspaper: “He is a player with the Barca profile. He was born here, breathing football. One day, he will end up playing at the Nou Camp, I'm sure."
Former Real Madrid forward Robinho is also on Barcelona’s radar amid rumours of a possible loan switch from Manchester City in the mid-season transfer window, with Barca defenders Carles Puyol and Eric Abidal plus midfielder Yaya Toure linked with a move in the opposite direction.
And Begiristain added: “He's a very interesting player and can play the Champions League."
Begiristain has also confirmed Barcelona were in the hunt for France star Franck Ribery in the summer along with Real Madrid and Chelsea.
