David Moyes has said he does not expect injured midfielder Marouane Fellaini to play again for Everton this season.
The 22-year-old sustained an ankle injury in a crunching tackle with defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos, who was sent off, of Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on February 6 and requires surgery.
Moyes believes the combative Belgian could be out for six months and described his absence as a “big miss”.
Moyes said: “Fellaini is not good. He has an injury similar to Robin van Persie (of Arsenal) and that could keep out for six months. We will not be sure until the operation takes place.
“He has played really well this season and been part of the reason behind our improvement. He has been a big miss to us already.”
