Arsenal will be without Thomas Vermaelen and Eduardo for Sunday's big game against Manchester United at the Emirates due to injury.
Both players picked up problems during Wednesday's 0-0 draw at Aston Villa, with central defender Vermaelen suffering a suspected broken leg.
The Belgium international will undergo a scan on Thursday to determined the extent of the injury, but Arsene Wenger admits the signs don’t look good.
When asked about Vermaelen, Wenger revealed: "He is on crutches. It is his fibula. Whether it is just a nerve problem or the bone is broken is what we have to check on.”
The defender’s injury could mean a starting berth for Sol Campbell against United this weekend, after the 35-year-old replaced Vermaelen on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Wenger has revealed that Eduardo will also miss Sunday's visit of Sir Alex Ferguson’s men after he picked up a hamstring injury.
