Experienced striker Erik Nevland will be offered a new contract by Fulham in January, manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed. Hodgson hopes to fend off reported interest from Viking in his native Norway by extending the 32-year-old's stay in west London. Reports had also suggested Nevland would be shown the door at Craven Cottage in the New Year because of the impending arrival of frontman Stefano Osaka from Roma. However, with Bobby Zamora out injured, Hodgson has said he wants to keep hold of the former Manchester United youngster. "I definitely will offer Nevland a new contract. We will discuss the length of the contract with the player and his agent during January," he told Stavanger Aftenbladet.
