Tottenham have re-signed defender Younes Kaboul from Portsmouth less that two years after they allowed him to leave White Hart Lane. The 24-year-old originally joined Spurs in 2007 from French side Auxerre with expectations high amongst the Spurs faithful that the French defender could develop into a top quality centre-half. However, Kaboul struggled and was sold to Portsmouth in 2008 where he has gone on to establish himself as a decent Premier League player. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has now brought Kaboul back to north London to strengthen his defensive options with Ledley King struggling to overcome a knee injury while Johnathan Woodgate could miss the rest of the season with a groin problem. Speaking about the capture of Kaboul Redknapp revealed that he would not be making any more signings during the January transfer window. "I don't want anyone else. We are happy with the squad. We haven't got too many. It's a good manageable squad," said Redknapp. "We are not close to anyone going either. Maybe one or two of the younger pros, who it would be good to go out and play some football, but that's it." While Spurs managed to bring in Kaboul they have failed in their pursuit of Pompey keeper Asmir Begovic, who looks set to snub Tottenham in favour of joining Stoke.
