Robinho is looking ‘really good’ to make his long-awaited comeback for Manchester City in the club’s home clash with Premier League strugglers Hull City on Saturday.
The Brazil playmaker has been out of action for the Citizens since August after picking up a stress fracture in his ankle while on international duty.
The 25-year-old did join up with Brazil earlier in November, fuelling rumours all was not right with his club, but City’s first team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki has dismissed the notion and believes it has done the player the world of good.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “Robi is looking really good. We are pleased, after all the speculation when he went with Brazil, he didn’t play for them because he wasn’t ready.
“He had good training and good treatment with them and has come back to us looking sharper by the day.
“Things are looking very promising for him in terms of the weekend and he should be up for selection.”
City will be looking to end a run of six straight draws in the Premier League when they entertain the Tigers, who have yet to win on their travels this term and hover just a point above the relegation zone.
