Russian marksman has Everton in his sights

February 26, 2010 11:02 · 0 comments

After his goalscoring feats against Wigan and Bolton in the last week, Russian striker Roman Pavyluchenko is hoping to start his first Premier League game of the season against Everton. England winger Aaron Lennon remains at least a fortnight away from full fitness but defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto is available again after a groin problem. The visitors have the best form out of anyone in the Premier League at the moment having beaten Chelsea and Manchester United in their last two matches but will again be without the services of Australian midfielder Tim Cahill.

Expert Advice

Just when the goals appeared to have dried up for Tottenham, they appear to have found a new goalscoring hero in rejuvenated striker Roman Pavyluchenko and Harry Redknapp will find it very hard to leave him out of his starting plans at White Hart Lane. Games between these two sides are traditionally entertaining and this clash would appear to be no exception, with Spurs pressing hard for the much-prized fourth spot against an Everton side who are riding high after beating the top two teams in the country. Everton could be jaded after their exploits in Europe in midweek but they have an excellent record in North London so expect another tight encounter here, with Betsson’s odds of 3.5 for there to be over 3.5 goals looking a value bet.
