Blackburn are understood to be seeking a loan swoop for former Chelsea forward Eidur Gudjohnsen, with Benni McCarthy closing in on a move to West Ham. McCarthy has angered Rovers boss Sam Allardyce by failing to turn up for training on the last two days and it looks as though the player is heading to West Ham. The South African has made it clear he wants to move on and a switch to Upton Park is expected to go through, even though Allardyce says there is still work to be done. The Blackburn boss revealed: "We have said all along that we will listen to offers, but only agree to sell if both the commercial and football reasons satisfy Blackburn Rovers. That situation remains unchanged." Allardyce is now eyeing a loan deal for Icelandic star Gudjohnsen, who only joined Monaco in the summer from Barcelona. The Blackburn manager worked with the 31-year-old during his time in charge at Bolton and that could be a key factor in potential January deal.
