Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong picked up a hamstring injury on “the worst day of the season” against Arsenal on Saturday and is likely to be out of action for a month at the least.
The former Newcastle player lasted the 90 minutes of the 3-0 defeat to fiercest rivals Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.
Bassong revealed he felt a muscle go in his hamstring and said he expects to be sidelined for four or five weeks.
“It’s not good news. It’s a hamstring. I’ll be out maybe four or five weeks. It just feels like my muscle is gone,” he said in the Daily Mirror.
“It was really not a good day for me or the club or the fans. It was the worst day of the season.”
