Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has announced that winger Aaron Lennon will not need surgery on his groin injury and could be ready to face Wigan on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was in excellent form in the first half of the season and appeared a certainty for England’s World Cup squad this summer.
But Lennon was struck down with a groin problem at the end of December and has not featured since amid fears he required a hernia operation.
However, Redknapp is now confident that the former Leeds player will not need to undergo surgery and could feature in his side’s Premier League match at DW Stadium on Sunday.
“He is happier every day so hopefully it could be next weekend. He won’t need an operation,” Redknapp said.
