Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keeping his fingers crossed midfielder Denilson did not break a rib in the 2-2 Premier League draw against Everton on Saturday. The former Sao Paulo star opened the scoring for the Gunners with a deflected effort on 28 minutes at the Emirates Stadium. However, the £3.4m signing, who had only just returned to fitness from a back injury, had to be replaced on 84 minutes. Wenger revealed Denilson was able to walk freely but that he suspected he may have suffered a broken rib or damaged a lung. The Frenchman said: "It is a little bit mysterious at the moment. "It could be an intercostal (muscle) problem. "I've just seen him in the dressing room and he can walk quite normally. "We have to see if it is a broken rib, if it is a deeper problem with his lungs."
